Are you an expereinced instrument & control engineer? If so then this role could be for you, as I am looking for a contractor to be based in Hull on a 6 months contract role.

Reporting to the Site Maintenance Manager, the main purpose of the Instrumentation & Control Engineer is to work within the Engineering team, with full responsibility for site instrumentation; including DCS/ESD and all associated equipment and software. To ensure the safe and economical operation of plant and processes, within the requirements of relevant European and UK legislation and good engineering practice.

Other Key Aspects of the role as Instrumentation & Control Engineer include:

* Communicating and demonstrating commitment to best HS&E practices and standards.
* Executing the responsibilities of Engineers/Technicians and all employees as outlined in the HSE responsibilities overarching document.
* Establishing working Instrumentation and Control engineering methods and processes that are compliant with EU/UK legislation.
* Providing appropriate Instrumentation and Control support and focus to maintain process plant reliability, availability and integrity targets.
* Working as part of an Engineering team, provide support for day to day maintenance activities, & support planning / scheduling functions for efficient & effective backlog management.
* Taking responsibility for the management of any number of small to medium projects from inception through to completion.
* Monitor & update the site Instrument & Control asset management programmes to continuously improve asset value.
* Supporting process plant shutdowns in terms of planning, scope development and execution.
* Supporting effective Instrumentation and Control technology and capability transfer channels throughout the organisation.
To apply for the role of Instrumentation & Control Engineer, you should be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Engineering with a track record in the Chemical Industry. This will coincide with relevant control systems knowledge.
