Description
A manager at a top investment bank in Jersey City, New Jersey is looking for a Technical Compliance Business Analyst.There will be a focus on are SQL, data analytical skills, and data manipulation tools. The more experience with these SQL the better.
Financial experience is a big plus, as well understanding of a project life cycle and trade life cycle.
Exposure to compliance is a necessity.
This will be a 6+ month contract that has the opportunity to be constantly extended or turn full time - please do not apply unless you are interested in something long term.
The rate will be based on experience, but they are looking to pay for a senior consultant.

Main Duties
- Liaise with relevant project stakeholders within the Compliance business and technology groups
- Gather and compile functional & technical specifications for the upcoming deliverables
- Completely understand data requirements for the upcoming deliverables and work on the mapping documentation
- Conduct data validations for the upstream source systems for correctness and completeness
- Prepare end-to-end process flow diagrams
- Work closely with technology development teams to ensure efficient delivery of technical solutions
- Deliver use cases and test cases while performing system testing and assisting business users with the UAT process
Person Requirements
Required :
Minimum 3-5 years of Business analysis (requirements gathering and validation, specification development, test design and execution) using structured methods or a recognised methodology.
Preferred :
Experience of working with the Compliance function within an Investment Bank.
Background in software development would be considered a plus
Knowledge of the QA methodologies
Project Management experience
Understanding of the Trading Compliance process
Technical Requirements:
Sound knowledge of business analysis methodologies and technology project lifecycles.
Ability to validate business requirements and develop functional specifications
Very good technical understanding of Unix, Oracle PL/SQL & Sybase
Strong data analysis skills
Excellent MS Office skills (esp. Visio, Excel, Word)
Ability to design, write technical document
Capability to deliver use and test cases
Preferred :
Knowledge of the functions of an investment banking Compliance department.
