An important role with a leading Blue Chip Bank, within the UK Retail and Business Banking Operational Risk sector to act as an Operational Risk & Control Manager across the Retail Bank.

The main purposes of the role itself can be summarised as follows:

  • Assist management teams to produce and maintain accurate risk profiles, together with their associated risk mitigation plans.
  • Support the delivery of change initiatives across the Retail Business, ensuring that each project manager identifies and a ctively manages and mitigates operational risk
  • Ensure that new products are launched with all risks understood and managed
  • Support management in the provision of controls assurance in areas of responsibility
  • Support management through the end to end auditing process to ensure appropriate findings are being raised and adequate actions plans put in place and delivered to ensure effective mitigation within agreed timescales.
  • Provide consultancy services to support the embedding of fit for purpose controls within areas of responsibility. To include MI, Risk Event capture, audits and tracking of all risk.
  • A ctively contribute to business area, cluster business and people development.

Key Skills and Experiance:

Essential

  • Experience of shaping management thought and managing conflict.
  • Strong experience within a quality control, compliance, operational risk or audit function is essential.
  • Key internal & external stakeholder and customer relationship management
  • Good knowledge of the Group's approach to Risk Management, and the assessment and profiling techniques used
  • Understanding of Operational Risk tools and techniques
  • Good understanding of Audit processes & procedures.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end process and service management concepts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the processes/procedures/systems which support the role

Preferred

  • Experience of dealing with and influencing third parties.
  • Experience in managing audit observations to resolution.
  • Travel will be required across the UK.
  • Knowledge of the Group and UK Retail and Business Banking Risk structure, roles and staff.
  • Good knowledge of the business clusters and Strategic Business Units and Shared Service Units that together make up UK Retail and Business Banking.
  • Good knowledge of the Financial Services Regulatory Environment
