Computer Systems Designer

Job Mission

You will define, realize, manage and maintain computer system products, such as: computers, computer racks & cabinets, processor boards, storage solutions, thin clients, network Switches and cabling, displays, keyboards, trackballs, as well as: Operating system software and licences.

Job Description
As Computer Systems Designer, you will primarily act as the EDEV representative in a multidisciplinary design team, especially together with colleagues from software department.

Your main responsibilities for this position are:
*define, document and maintain requirements, as well as execute the tests, of various computer systems electronics products;
*define Technical Product Documentation for a part used during ordering, manufacturing and testing;
*contribute to Computer Systems roadmap and building-blocks. Commercial off the shelf (COTS) solutions and using industry standards are highly preferred
In addition to the main responsibilities detailed above, you need to demonstrable competency on:
*make work breakdown and planning for the various computer systems electronics products, agreed with other stakeholders;
*manage outsourcing of computer systems electronics related modules;
*transfer knowledge to production and service engineers;
*solve problems during 1st product integration;
*support production and service; and
*analyze and solve reliability issues.

Education
BSc or MSc degree in Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

The overall needed experience is:
*at least 2-3 years relevant work experience in computer system design;
*at least 1 year of overall industrial work experience;
*broad technical knowledge of computer hardware (Sun, PowerPC, x86 PC), operating systems (Solaris, VxWorks, Linux, Windows Embedded), networks (Ethernet, switched fabric), storage hardware, software development (Scripting), Real Time design;
*excellent English language skill in writing and speaking;
*preferably have already some previous experience working with big complex high tech companies; and

Personal skills
*Good social- and communication skills. This because of your interfacing role within EDEV and SW department/colleagues.
*Highly motivated team player.
*Self-propelling, takes initiative in daily work.
