Software Engineer

Summary:
We are seeking a great software developer to work in a small, high performance team, supporting development, maintenance and enhancements of our platform developed in Ruby on Rails (RoR). As a fast-growing pioneer and market leader of the prepaid industry and the category expert, our client delivers proprietary point of sale activation technology that enables virtually any product to become prepaid. Responsibilities:
- Work closely with product management to define the product and guide its implementation
- Implement new features and optimize existing ones at model, controller, and UI levels
- Design and implement features within the Ruby/Rails web application
- Scalability and performance improvements for the application and underlying infrastructure
- Roll up your sleeves, fix bugs, and solve problems - we are a small dev ops style shop at the moment.
Qualifications:
- 2+ Years of experience building mission-critical consumer web applications
- Advanced knowledge of Ruby on Rails or similar MVC web frameworks
- 1+ years experience working with Ruby or Python
- 1+ years experience with Javascript /jQuery
- Data modelling and optimization of RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL) for direct and ORM-mediated access
- Experience in Agile and TDD/BDD methodologies
- Comfort developing for and running Linux/Unix systems
Desired:
- Contributions to relevant open-source projects
- Familiarity with Git version control
- Experience building modern mobile applications with HTML/JS frameworks such as Phonegap or Appcelerator Titanium
