Civil Engineer (nuclear/power plant/nuclear new build)

Our client, a leading nuclear company is urgently seeking a Civil Engineer. This is permanent opportunity, to be based in Gloucestershire. You will be joining a Engineering team to support the execution of a programme of new nuclear power station development.

The key purpose of the role is to provide support to the Head of Civil Engineering in the provision of expert engineering services to our client with responsibility for all technological aspects of the nuclear new build civil engineering design. The post holder will carry out a range of civil engineering assessments and reviews in support of the design of the plants and sites.

Responsibilities:
*Support the Head of Civil Engineering on a range of issues
*Work with suppliers and the regulator to ensure licensing and permitting requirements are met.
*Review documents supplied by the company and other suppliers.
*Provide support to the process to ensure the UK adaptation requirements are met.
*Provide support to the licensing and permitting process for the new build plants.
*Provide support to the Site Development Directorate in relation to works at site.
*Assist in the development of local procedure and working arrangements for the civil engineering discipline.

Skills Set:
*A civil engineering qualification, chartered engineer status
*Knowledge and understanding across a broad range of nuclear power plant engineering issues
*Previous experience in the design/layout and maintenance of nuclear/conventional systems and components including balance of plant
*Previous experience within the sector and knowledge of international nuclear/conventional codes and standards
*Demonstrable knowledge and understanding across a broad range of power plant engineering issues
*Experience in complex engineering and design projects
*Project management and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
*Able to provide guidance and support to other members of the team.

The successful candidate must be willing to undergo BPSS Clearance prior to commencement.
