Support the engineering group with connecting medical devices to Middleware software solutions and maintaining those connections.

Responsibilities:
  • Investigate Customer Product Failures/Issues
  • Perform first level investigation of Customer complaints.
  • Determine reproducibility of issues using in-house equipment.
  • Work with HW and/or SW team member(s) after initial complaint investigation to determine Impact Assessment, Action Plan, and Risk Mitigation Plan.
  • Support New Product Releases and Updates
  • Develop Design Planning documents, Verification Plans, and Verification Summaries.
  • Determine appropriate test methods for updates (eg, Technical Rationale, Specification Review, Performance Testing and/or Integrated Testing).
  • Interface with the R&D and Marketing Groups to identify new components and devices that are required to cover new User Needs, product extensions, cost reductions, obsolescence, and market expansion.
  • Develop New Functionality with Software Vendors
  • Create new use case protocols to thoroughly test new software.
  • Create lab software environments.
  • Execute use case protocols using in house instruments and equipment.
  • Create documentation explaining new functionality.
  • Transfer knowledge through training to service and implementation organizations.
  • Consult on networking issues to successfully simulate laboratory practices.
  • Configure instruments and software to support tests.
  • Manage the change control process for new software releases
  • Develop novel procedures and processes as the product offerings change
Education:
B.S. in Engineering or equivalent

SKILLS

Required:
  • Experience in performing system-level investigations.
  • Self-motivated, strong inter-personal skills, detail oriented, proactive, and able to support concurrent/overlapping project activities of varying degree and complexity
Preferred:
  • Experience with communication protocols
  • Experience with Middleware or Hospital Information Systems
