Responsible for the day to day implementation and support of the Windows Server environment.

Tasks Include:
  • System Monitoring including performance and event logs.
  • Participate in areas of technical innovation and cost saving improvements.
  • Perform hardware and software installation, configuration and maintenance.
  • Execute approved configuration changes to Servers.
  • Evaluate and apply system and security patches to ensure the security and stability of the environment.
  • Ensure proper configuration and maintenance as well as ensure backups are made of systems to allow for recovery of systems and data.
  • Monitor system capacity. Collect and review system data for capacity and planning purposes.
  • Coordinate with appropriate management personnel in implementing changes.
  • Identify work-around's for known issues and document steps to implement.
  • Detail orientated documentation skills. Includes documenting daily to large/complex tasks.
  • Perform problem diagnosis and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with medium and large datacenters.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management terms and processes.
  • Incident Management - Perform troubleshooting of incidents that are not well defined and consult with senior analysts on correct resolution steps.
  • Change Management - Document change implementation plans and execute the plans reviewed and approved by senior analysts.
  • Perform basic to moderately complex changes following standard change management processes.
  • Asset Management - Understand asset tracking as it pertains to department and the company as a whole. Ensure accuracy and timely notification if inaccuracies are found.
SKILLS

Key Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of other Microsoft Windows Server products including Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008R2, 2012.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Management. Equivalent experience can be substituted with a demonstrated pursuit of ongoing education, certifications or technical learning.
  • Citrix - Extensive experience with 4.0-6.5 Citrix Farms. Citrix Storefront, Receiver, and all Citrix policies.
  • Microsoft IIS - Extensive knowledge of IIS 6.0-7.5. Including but not limited to Application Pools, Website Configuration, Access Controls (ACL's), and Certificates. Must have knowledge of Load Balancing, multiple sites on single webservers.
  • Solid knowledge and working experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems including but not limited to the following components: Installation, Patching, Security, Networking, System Internals, Powershell, Printing, Clustering, IIS, Management Tools, Scripting, Performance Tuning, Terminal Services.
  • Microsoft Active Directory. Must have a thorough understand of AD and the services it provides such as DNS, WINS, DHCP, DFS, KMS, etc.
  • Experience with NAS (Network Attached Storage).
Familiarity with the following software and tools is a plus:
  • McAfee Products including ePO/VSE/HIPS/Safeboot/AntiSpyware/GroupShield
  • BMC Products including Bladelogic/CMDB/ITSM/Patrol
  • Hardware Vendors (HP, NetApp, Hitachi)
