On behalf of Hyphens large utilities client I am looking to recruit an Environmental Manager to work onsite in Castle Donnington on an initial 12 month contract.

Key Role:
- To ensure that the Delivery Unit operate to achieve the highest standards of Safety, Health and Environmental responsibility.
- Support the OHL, Cables and Substations Delivery Unit with the implementation of the Environmental Management System and the Sustainable Construction Programme.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
*As part of a team deliver the SHE Strategy and engagement to ensure continuous improvement, world class performance and the development of appropriate SHE culture
*Support with delivering the actions on the Sustainable Construction Implementation Programme with the aim to ensure good performance for each part of the delivery unit.
*Ensure full engagement and education of the Delivery Unit management team for accountability in delivery
*Feed in to the development and communication of a structured SHE skills Matrix for all Delivery Unit personnel and direct support functions, in particular define environmental management and sustainability responsibilities clearly
*Provide tools, coaching, mentoring and education (training either directly or through service providers) to enable all Delivery Unit personnel to manage their SHE responsibilities, with a focus on Environment and Sustainability
*Develop (through the management team) and implement the appropriate SHE culture within the Delivery Unit, encompassing the 'Safety and Sustainability by Design' philosophy
*Ensure the effective delivery of the communications for the Sustainable Construction Programme.
*Collect best practices for sustainability and environmental management
*Support procurement events with your environmental expertise.
*Support incident investigations with your environmental expertise and ensure investigations are compliant with Incident Investigation procedure.
*Ideally a member of a professional body and working towards chartered status or similar in the field of environment or engineering.

General Experience
*Previous accountability and ownership for allocated Environmental management and sustainability issues, improvement plans and initiatives
*Ability to convey SHE delivery concepts in an informative and collaborative manner
*Experience of preparing concise, accurate reports
*Desire to enhance personal development as a SHE professional with construction
*Ability to deliver training/briefing material in an innovative, enjoyable and effective way
*Identifying, sharing and implementing best practice
*Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation
