My client is seeeking a search anlsyst to join their team to look at develop better methods and results for searching data. This role will be based on an initial 3 month contract with a likely extension. This role will look at the strategic side of search capabilities within my client organisation and implement improved seach capabilities.

Search Performance:

  • Monitors, assesses, reports and takes action to improve on the performance of search, user behaviour and ultimately the user experience through timely qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Administers and maintains search in consultation with IT in the context of security, patch/release level, service levels and capacity

Organisational Capability:

  • As the subject matter expert and in consultation with other members of the IMC Team, develops, disseminates and supports standards, guidelines and training that is used by content authors and owners in optimising information accessibility/retrieval
  • Engages with and provides advice to content owners around search terms, categorisations, taxonomies etc that improve user competency and experience

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification together with extensive experience in search solutions and methodologies
  • Knowledge of information architecture - collection structure, search settings, metadata etc - as it pertains to enhancing information retrieval systems and practices in a large organisation
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills together with knwoledge of the frameworks and change management methodologies (inc. standards, monitoring, metrics and training) required to drive continuous improvement in search within an organisation where content ownership and authoring is decentralised.
  • Knowledge & experience working with IT (eg service, performance, problem, change, release and cpacity management) to maintain and upgrade search systems.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practice in search
  • Ability to suggest other search products available in the market as well as suggest improved search calapbilities.
