Senior Commercial Insight Analyst required by a globally renowned media company. As Senior Commercial Insight Analyst you will be working within a team of 6 and will be reporting to the head of planning and reporting. Your main responsibilities include; data extraction, analysis, regular / ad-hoc reporting and monitoring / understanding key trends/ opportunities.

Your role will see you informing and advising internal and external stakeholders about maintaining performance, having input into strategy, and ensuring that targets are met. This will be achieved via the insight you draw from customer data through utilisation of a combination of tools / skills, namely, advanced Excel / Access / SQL, web analytics (preferably Omniture SiteCatalyst), BI reporting (preferably MicroStrategy and Tableau) and statistical modelling (SAS OR SPSS).

Other responsibilities include data mining, integrating data from multiple database systems to support reporting and analytical efforts, defining how the business should analyse data, development of data models / data sets, store reporting and analysis related to e-commerce activity planning, tracking, optimisation and commercial support.

Suitable candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills, 3-5 years experience within a data mining / analytics role that involves stakeholder management and provision of commercial insight, a strong numerical degree, exceptional analytical, technical, problem-solving, and decision making skills, alongside commercial acumen.

Knowledge of Excel and Access (VBA level), SQL, SAS, data mining, BI reporting tools such as MicroStrategy, hyperion or Cognos, data visualisation software (i.e. tableau), web tools i.e. omniture, webtrends, coremetrics, Google Analytics, and familiarity with predictive modelling software is essential.

Ideal candidates will come from a retail, online services / e-commerce, entertainment background, although this is not a prerequisite.
