Senior Desktop Support
Skills: Windows, Customer Service, MAC,
Summary:
The ideal candidate for this position will possess a broad range and depth of Windows desktop and server support, and will have attained a combination of education, experience (and possibly certifications) that attest to the skills and experience required.
Responsibilities:
- Experienced strong customer service, personal initiative, and a strong work ethic.
- Experience with Networking: TCP/IP, -Base-T Switches, Routers, Operating Systems: Windows 2000 and Above
- Experience with Core Applications: MS Office Suite, Remedy, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Creative suite, McAfee antivirus, and more;
- Experience with Core Hardware: Servers/Desktops/Laptops, Printers/Plotters, Traditional ISA/PCI architecture Intel Based Machines, PC BIOS and architecture, Windows Domains and Active Directories
- Experience with PC storage subsystems and media technology: Hard drives, floppy drives, CD ROMs, USB storage devices; Printer and print server installation, configuration and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of Sr. Desktop support and Customer Service Skills
- Windows 2000 and Above
- A + Certification or IT education related degree
- Ability to take and understand direction from remote support personnel.
- Ability to lift, move, install equipment commonly associated with the duties of this position, including equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Mac OS experience in an academic environment, and experience with scientific computing a big plus.
