Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Creates clinical data management plans with workflow diagrams for clinical data capture, query, and query resolution.
- Improves turnaround time for study analysis and safety reporting; increases efficiency by reducing the number of data queries.
- Establishes robust procedures and practices to facilitate effective operations and decision making, including best practices for data entry and reporting from clinical databases.
- Acts as consultant to project teams and clinical managers in the area of Data Management processes and process improvement
- Evaluates and supports electronic data capture processes that will enhance data collection and integrity.
- Sets up and performs user acceptance testing of electronic clinical databases.
- Trains and supervises data entry personnel.
- Investigates alternatives to traditional data capture on paper case report forms.
- Assists as needed with other data management activities in conjunction with personnel in the Biostatistics and Data Management group.
- Other similar duties as assigned.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in data management.
- Experience with electronic data capture is preferred.
- A background in molecular biology/biochemistry with laboratory experience preferred.
- Previous experience in quality control processes is recommended.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of electronic data capture interfaces such as InForm, Oracle Clinical, Medrio, and/or Medidata.
- Ability to work with relevant computer software packages, including spreadsheets and word-processing packages (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work under time pressure while maintaining high standards of precision and data quality.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Statistics, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience in clinical research and data management.
