A top Hedge Fund located in Downtown Boston is bringing on a C# developer. The developer will join the fund's Research and Investment Systems Group. The Research & Investment Systems Group provides development and support to various Investment Divisions in all areas of the investment process, including research, portfolio construction and optimization, pre and post trade analytics, trading, middle and back office.Position Overview:
The firm is looking for a C# Developer to create innovative solutions for our investment divisions. You will be working with data and research departments, implementing a wide variety of applications, from research and portfolio analysis to trade resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with business users, research analysts, portfolio managers and traders to identify areas where technology could be leveraged to enhance the investment process and achieve superior results
- Propose and design technical solutions
- Implement applications based on the solutions proposed and work closely with users to test and integrate the applications into the current production environment
- Support the applications developed
Skills:
- College degree required
- Minimum 4 years of demonstrated success developing middle-tier applications in C#
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrated success developing multithreaded applications in C#
- Minimum 3 years of experience with a front end UI technology such as WPF, Silverlight, etc.
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services, Reporting Services is a plus
- Solid and demonstrable understanding of robust software engineering principles including application security, performance, fault tolerance, and maintainability.
- Self-starter, able to work as part of a small team as well as independently, with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
- Effective presentation skills a strong plus
- Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize work and effectively manage multiple tasks
- Mathematics or other analytical background would be a plus
