My client is a world class building services design consultancy based in Leeds. Established for over 50 years they have offices throughout the UK, with global clients.

They are looking for a senior electrical design engineer with six years plus experience in building design, initially on a 6 month contract but with the end point to be joining them as staff.

You will be working alongside a fantastic, well established team with clients such as Asda, H&M, DHL, Specsavers and Network Rail.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Service utility coordination
  • Power distribution
  • Lighting
  • Fire alarms
  • Low voltage infrastructure
  • Emergency power systems
  • UPS design
  • Construction administration
  • Project Management
  • Attend client meetings


You will be expected to lead the electrical design on a variety of project types, and lead larger multi-discipline teams as the project manager, directly interfacing with the client. As a leader, you will regularly meet with clients, organise in-house resources, develop project proposals and budgets, mentor junior staff, prepare technical reports/ specifications, and contribute to the overall business development of the company.

Requirements
  • 5-10 years' experience designing electrical systems for the built environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of building and energy codes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on the ability to organise and present design information to clients
  • BREEAM AP is preferred but not essential
  • Working knowledge of Revit preferred but not essential
