Information Management System Mainframe z/OS Technical Support Specialists
I am currently looking for an experienced team of Information Management System Mainframe z/OS Technical Support Specialists to work on a 12 month extendable contract for a market leading client of mine in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Responsibilities -
- Support problem and change tickets for server support operations for work involving problem determination and implementation of changes to hardware, software, applications or network systems.
- Work to standardize repeatable tasks and steps across multiple accounts within a pod while providing coaching and mentoring to the junior team members. This may require creating documentation or scripts that can be used to solve the same problem in the future.
- Implement DBDC simple security compliance corrections without assistance
- Support project tasks for server support operations for service requests and non-ticketed work to client operating systems, hardware, software, applications or network systems.
- The work ranges from routine project work and sets of tasks to non-standard problems
- Project pool job roles involve responsibility for accomplishing project work from multiple clients, including planned work projects focused on identifying and introducing improvements within a work area or process
- Team members participate once or more a day in cadence discussion on team performance. They discuss issues or challenges, and receive trouble-shooting input/advice from other team members
- Implement DBDC related simple OEM product upgrades without assistance
- Implement DBDC simple security compliance corrections without assistance
Requirements -
- At least 2 years experience in in day-to-day IMS administration
- At least 6 months experience in at least one or more of the following: installing, troubleshooting, operating, testing, planning and configuring IMS
- At least 3 years experience in systems programming within IMS
- At least 3 years experience in systems programming within Mainframe operating systems and DBDC sub-systems
