Interaction Design Internship

We work in a highly collaborative environment where everyone is expected to contribute to the team. You will be learning from experts in the industry. This is a paid internship with hands-on design experience in a fast-paced environment. You will be involved from the conceptual stage of design to product release. We expect you to have a strong work ethic, be able to figure out how to get things done on your own, and ask questions from your mentor when you need help or feedback.  

Internships are filled on a rolling schedule and last four to six months. Our studio is in Salt Lake City and internships are onsite, working with the design leads. Hours are 20-30 hours per week, $18/hour. 

Role

An Interaction Designer creates the overall look and feel of a wide range of interactive communication products. Using text, data, graphics, sound, animation and other digital and visual effects, they may work on projects such as web sites, e-books, online learning materials, animations, interactive exhibits, infographics, and environmental designs.


Responsibilities

An intern works under the direction of a design lead on assigned tasks. He/she utilizes knowledge, skills, and abilities in designing and building user interfaces or publications with a variety of software applications, techniques, and development tools. As a member of the broader design team, he/she willingly accepts instruction, learns quickly and is curious to learn new techniques from peers and team members. He/she demonstrates success on assigned portions of a larger project. He/she shows initiative and creativity within assigned areas.


Qualifications

Portfolio that demonstrates exceptional graphic design skills and experience in interactive design;  Earning a BA or BFA in design or related field; Experience in graphic and interactive design;

Ability to organize personal work and meet deadlines; Ability to communicate concepts through storyboarding, wireframing, or other conceptual tools; Demonstrate a knowledge in typography, brand strategy, user experience, and visual communications. You also need to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a current recommend.
