Description

Electronics Engineer:

My client are currently looking for both a senior electronics engineer and an electronics engineer to help them on a new project they are working on. The senior engineer will be leading the team with the design of a new subsea data logger.

Senior Electronics Engineer:

* Developing Schematic and PCB designs, using software tools such as Pulsonix, for the next generation of MY clients products as well as ongoing projects.
* Leading a small team to develop new product technologies, working under electronics discipline manager.
* Engineering and implementing embedded solutions for chosen product technologies - i.e. RISK processors (e.g. ARM), FPGAs, SBCs, using either Windows or Linux embedded solutions.
* Focus on low-power and low-noise solutions to satisfy my client's strict product requirements.
* Developing firmware routines for DSP, data storage and communications.
* Developing interfacing solutions with various digital components (e.g. ADCs, memory cards, using various protocols, digital sensors) and analogue components (analogue sensors, OpAmps etc)
* Developing system and component level test and qualification procedures and documenting the results.
* Working with project managers to develop and document system architectures for my client's specific applications, including specifying cables for power and communications paths.
* Working closely with the engineering team and project manager to integrate product line to client application.
* Working with the electronics discipline manager in order to assist with design reviews and qualifications of new designs.
* Evaluating technical specifications suitable of 3rd party equipment when used in system level designs, as well as component selection when conducting product designs.
* Hardware de-bugging and performance characterisations.
* Working with the project manager to develop and conduct System Integration Testing
* Analysing and characterising sensor design performance using simulation tools and test equipment.
* Assisting project managers with project delivery (assembly, testing, installation) if project work load requires, including offshore installation if necessary

Electronics Engineer:

* Provable background in electronic design, including 4 years of digital circuit design with relevant architectures
* Excellent use of CAD software for PCB and Schematic design (Pulsonix preferable)
* Excellent knowledge and experience of implementing various digital processor architectures and firmware (ARM and FPGAs ideal)
* Solid understanding of various basic communications protocols, i.e. RS, SPI, I2C, USB
* Understanding of interfacing with various digital electronics building blocks and such as ADCs, memory cards, sensors etc.
* Knowledge of low-voltage power electronics and power-efficient design
* Understanding of low-noise design techniques
* Understanding of basic analogue circuitry
* Full understanding of electronic design process expected
* Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment preferred
* Advanced use of lab tools such as oscilloscopes and voltmeters
