Project Description:
Develop and establish best practice for sharing knowledge both internally and externally by applying Information Management/Knowledge management practices and skills
Organise and structure information more effectively in Sharepoint and Web
Improve the efficiency of data capture, storage and reporting for dashboards, metrics, highlights, newsletters etc to reduce burden and duplication of effort
Determine clear framework for communication and information handling for change management and identify gaps.
Build dynamic, engaging focus in our communication media,
Provide greater external focus to our web and public Sharepoint Sites
Improve the Services Operations Management (SOM) visibility and quality of information communicated to our customers and partners - including search results/being able to find help
Apply standards but establish strong branding for SOM including innovative initiatives
Review current SOM usage of all interfacing technologies - web, sharepoint, jammer, blogs, etc. and maximise suitability & effectiveness and value
Review alternative methods for communications of issues, eg if email down: SMS text broadcasts, etc. Newsletters, Magazine formats etc etc
Develop sustainable communication plan based on ITSO lead and to address stakeholders concerns (eg IT/IM managers, CIO, etc)
Looking to reduce the amount of material instead stored and increase the value of what is shared. This goes beyond just the technology platforms but may include ways of working changes. The project is aimed at delivering a step change and laying strong foundation rather than solving the entire problem space. If successful a second phase may be proposed for 2014 or the role be Embedded in the operational team.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead project to deliver the activities and objectives above.
Plan, lead and direct other resources (developer/designer, existing operational team members) to deliver on objectives
Develop, agree & Document IM Framework
Deliver redesigned website, improving business value and effectiveness
Deliver restructured Sharepoint site to act as community hub
Establish branding for communication from SOM within organisational constraints.
Develop communication framework documenting accountabilities and expectations, appropriate channels and risks.
Strong formal IM/KM background to bring proven, established best practices
Strong knowledge of technology platforms (web, sharepoint, search, jammer etc)
Good IT background to understand content but present to different target audiences
Good communications experience
Innovative and creative approach
Drive to establish practices and solutions across SOM
