Storage/ Data engineer -ChicagoA very successful, well established Chicago-based proprietary trading firm is seeking a Senior Storage Engineer to support our growing enterprise and trading infrastructure. This is an opportunity for a candidate who specializes in designing, implementing and supporting enterprise storage solutions in a highly complex, high-performance environment. In this role, you will be working as the link between the Linux, DBA and Storage teams in this organization.
- BSc of Computing science or equivalent
- Expert knowledge of NetApp and EMC Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) enterprise solutions
- Advanced knowledge of SAN switches
- Strong technical knowledge of virtualization (VMware, ESX)
- In-depth experience with storage protocols (CIFS, NFS, SMB, SAMBA, Fiber Channel, Infiniband) and file systems (Ext2/3/4, GPFS, NTFS)
- Expert knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Performance analysis, tuning and optimization on various hardware platforms

The Storage engineering role will offer you a unique positioning within this company's technology department, combining Storage, Linux engineering and Database engineering and exposing you technologies across those departments.
