Description
My client is a large multi national contractor that operates across the energy, process and power station sectors. Due to continued growth in these sectors, they are now looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor on a contract basis.The project will consist of constructing a mass-burn incinerator converting waste to energy - so knowledge of this type of work would be advantageous.
The job will entail successfully delivering prompt financial completion of projects, by adherence to the Company's Procedures.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Professional membership of recognised institute e.g. RICS, CIOB, ICES
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages e.g. Excel, Word & PowerPoint
* Holding a relevant CSCS card
* Extensive experience in procurement and administration of processing equipment subcontracts
* Exposure to resolving disputes
* Extensive experience of working on live projects and concluding final accounts
* Successfully completed a number of final accounts
* Experience of procuring major works sub contracts
* Experience of managing, mentoring and developing staff
* Technical knowledge of the construction industry (Building, Civils and Processing)
* Sound knowledge of different industry contracts
* Extensive experience of commercial processes associated with live projects
* Understanding of risk in construction process
* Understanding of the relevance of the construction programme/critical path
* Comprehensive understanding of construction industry its stakeholders
* Proficient knowledge of measurement and valuation
* Proficient in reading drawings, specifications and knowledge of construction processes
* Good knowledge of standard forms of contract and principles of contract law
* Ability to negotiate with clients/sub-contractors
* Ability to draft sub contracts
