Description

This Machine Designer will lead and coordinate tooling and equipment projects relating to new products and improvement activities affecting safety, quality, productivity and cost. They are looking for someone capable of developing solutions to complex and diverse technical problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgement within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, specialized techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. This position may have supervisory responsibility associated with it.

Key Responsibilities

* Seeks out problems (Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost) affecting the performance of the production group.
* Leads problem solving activities using P-D-C-A and background in TPS (Lean).
* Develops procedures and standards to optimize tooling and equipment specification, execution and evaluation.
* Responsible for design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment and tooling.
* Responsible for evaluating, selecting, and ordering equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacture of company products.
* Oversees or may participate in the installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
