Responsibilities:
  • Provides basic equipment data to sales & application/estimating/proposal groups
  • Receives awarded projects from proposal group
  • Initiates job folder on server.
  • Reviews customer specifications for compliance and/or deviations.
  • Submits schedules to customers
  • Influences team and establishes materials for projects
  • Develops process equipment vessel, tank and package designs for fabrication
  • Works with sales personnel for customer communication and approvals.
  • Develops flow diagrams
  • Develops ASME Code & lifting lug calculations.
  • Sizes piping, valves and controls.
  • Provides material requisitions for significant and/or long lead items.
  • Provides engineering sketches and works with drafting to complete drawings
  • Provides salesman and/or customer with regular engineering/design and drawing status.
  • Receives shop red-line drawings and oversees final drafting revisions in a timely manner.
  • Develops bills of material and shop and works with the shop.
  • Prepares and maintains project schedules, assist when necessary in quotation prep, coordinates all aspects of customer change during fabrication by evaluating effect of change, selecting additional scope and preparing pricing to customers, and issuing correct accounting paperwork to process the changes.
  • Approves vendor drawings; some design components are applicable to the position.
  • Negotiates change orders and approves them when the customer presents modifications
  • Performs engineering calculations to size vessels, piping, and valves to develop flow diagrams to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
  • Ensures project engineering work is completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Reviews bills of material and shop notes meeting the customer's requirements and specific requirements of the order in compliance with accepted practices and applicable natural gas industry codes
  • Coordinates with drafting to develop general arrangement and assembly drawings for other departments and the customer
  • Coordinates with the shop to meet their assembly and shipping requirements for each unit.
  • Provides regular updates of design status, drawings, BOM's, and buyouts.


Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology
  • 5+ years experience with oil & gas process equipment sizing, design & ASME Code
  • Experience with process vessels, tanks & package design.
  • Experience with applicable codes and standards
  • Experience with valves and controls such as Fisher, Norris, AGCO, Daniel Meter Run sizing, etc.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook
