Prepare hands on experiments, tests and analyses in industrial chemical laboratory and scale-up trials and good housekeeping practices
  • Maintain rigorous record keeping practices, keep an accurate laboratory notebook or run log
  • Use various on-line databases
  • Operate under limited supervision
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment
  • Demonstrate maturity, reliability and leadership as a member of a team
  • Train and cross-train with others and adhere to standard safety practices
Education/Experience:
  • Required - Minimum 2 years at an accredited college or university with a strong background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related subject
  • Recent graduate with a bachelor's or master's degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering preferred
SKILLS:

Medical Clearances Required
  • Respirator (Not SCBA), Diisocyanates
  • Ability to lift 30 to 40 lbs. Required
  • Follow written and verbal instructions - effective oral and written communications skills with strong work ethic and self motivation
  • Must operate with a high sense of urgency and flexibility
  • Work comfortably in both a team environment and individually with minimum supervision
  • High standard of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Possess basic science, math and technology skills
  • Ability to work independently and safely, follow all safety policies, willingness to learn
  • Adaptability work in a fluid and changeable environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Extensive experience in setting up lab experiments, work-up, analysis and testing
  • Experience with sample preparation and testing, laboratory and/or pilot plant synthesis
  • Good organizational skills (time planning, record keeping, etc.)
  • Solid background in safe work practices
  • Problem solver, self-starter
  • Aptitude for observing, making suggestions, collaboration, and timely communication of results, issues, concerns, and innovative ideas
