Essential Duties and Job Functions :Prepares production schedules for manufacture of commercial products. Establishes sequence and lead-time of each operation to meet shipping dates. Determines daily production schedules based on engineering plans, production specifications, plant capacity, availability of parts, and manpower requirements. Readjusts schedules according to production progress, change orders, or other delaying conditions. Coordinates with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects. Monitors and as necessary expedites the release of all product and components produced and utilized, assuring that release will occur within timeframes as determined by senior management. Schedules meetings, communicating changes and additions to production schedules. Works on non-routine problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables. With guidance exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. May provide training and guidance to other Materials Management personnel.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills :Requires a BS degree and minimum 4 years of relevant experience or a MS degree and minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Assignments range from non-routine to routine where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Must be able to develop solutions to moderately non-routine problems. The ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Applies working knowledge of manufacturing and production operations, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and/or Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) on a daily basis. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Good verbal, writing and interpersonal skills are required.
