Solutions Architect - Insurance - London - £60 - 70kSolutions Architect required for to join the IT Development team of one of theUK's fastest growing insurers.
Role:
This is a permanent Solutions Architect role and will articulate architecture strategy throughout the business as well as design component/service-based systems architectures to meet objectives for business processing needs. The role has no direct line management responsibilities but will however be a major contributor to the success of complex, typically large, often enterprise-wide major systems projects and innovations.
Key Responsibilities:
A successful candidate will be responsible for defining and implementing strategies, standards, procedures and policies at the enterprise level. Furthermore as the Solutions Architect you will also be responsible for defining AS IS and TO BE architecture artefacts and ensures alignment to enterprise architecture/SDLC frameworks and defines toolsets to deliver. They will also ensure that delivery of end to end solutions that meet business requirements and be able to contribute to architecture blueprints and strategic design activities.
Necessary Experience for the Solutions Architect:
- Experience working as a Solutions Architect within Financial Services
- Knowledge of Microsoft technologies across a wide range of industries.
- The understanding of different architectures and industry patterns.
- Experience in insurance or financial services systems development including in the design of component- and/or service-based systems/applications.
- Ability to interact with multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong experience in leading technology evaluation efforts, including the definition of the evaluation criteria, identification of technologies to be evaluated, and the actual evaluation
- Ability to create and deliver technical presentations to technical and non-technical staff, as appropriate to the target audience.
- Ability to engage with project teams in a leadership role, advocating on behalf of architectural principles and standards, and making compromises where appropriate.
- Ability to manage team meetings and presentations and coordinate with off-site teams and or vendors.
- Prior experience of TOGAF
- Qualifications in PRINCE, ITIL or ISEB

Salary: 60 - 70k depending on experience
