Position Summary:

Creates and manages a worldwide materials (and related documents) inventory and shipping system. Controls movement of raw materials, manufactured drug substances and products between CMOs for further processing, study distribution or storage. Provides records defining materials quality-for-use. Manages international customs and importation taxation issues. Updates and makes visible, all company inventory records, and materials shipping status. Monitors inventory levels and retest dates to alert company to take corrective actions.

Essential Functions:

* Responsible for creating and managing a materials inventory and shipping system.

* Works with appropriate parties to evaluate material exposure limits, and create Materials Safety Data Sheets.

* Manages the identification, authorization, and destruction of obsolete or expired materials.

* Develops working partnerships with key internal stakeholders and external vendors and CMOs to ensure that materials are appropriately identified and moved with qualifying documentation and shipping controls to the correct location, and on time.

* Employ controlled temperature shipment technologies to ensure sensitive materials are kept under specific conditions, and transit recordings are produced.

* Creates, implements and maintains policies and procedures to streamline materials management.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Preferred Education:

* BA/BS degree with typically 5 years of relevant experience in a materials management role in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company.

Preferred Experience:

* Experience working with pharmaceutical materials management systems.

* Must be willing to work independently with little supervision.

* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, and good English communication skills.

* Experience with and preparing the proper paperwork for to meet customs, FDA, DEA and local tax requirements.

* Strong organizational, decision making, problem solving, analytical, interpersonal, negotiation and collaboration skills are key requisites of the role.

* Skilled with Microsoft Excel and Word.
