As the Client's Senior Network Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting all network routing, Firewalls, Switches, load balancers and other aspects of network architecture, network support, and network monitoring. The Senior Administrator reports into Client's Network Services department. The Senior Network Administrator works with other members of the Network Services team to deliver high quality solutions to support our hosted clients within the health insurance industry. The Senior Network Administrator will work with multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, and Solaris) and multiple networking components (corporate and hosted production environments) and support our products on each of these platforms. The right candidate will have hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco ASA Firewalls, IPS devices, Cisco IOS based devices, and Cisco Wireless devices in a mid-size or larger enterprise/data-center environment. F5, VMWare and/or SAN networking experience is not required but is a strong plus. The Senior Network Administrator will be responsible for maintaining all corporate networking and security components, as well as working with the COLO Hosting Vendor to support the Production Hosting environment. The Senior Network Administrator will be the primary network administrator within Client's Atlanta corporate office location, and will be expected to provide and set the architecture and best practices for operating a production hosting environment. The Senior Network Administrator will report to the Manager of Network and Security Engineering Services.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Provide onsite and remote Network administration, setup, and configuration and maintenance
  • Responsible for maintaining Network hardware architecture and inventory, including procurement and specifications
  • Responsible for repairing Network devices, both internally and via vendor support
  • Required for both on-hours and off-hours support
  • Will manage Network images, security hardening of network devices, and perform remediation of discovered vulnerabilities
  • Provide corporate networking and security support to internal users and to external client requests
  • Performs necessary troubleshooting, diagnostic, research, evaluation and documentation of various WAN/LAN/VoIP and data communications issues and solutions
  • Maintains existing systems with IOS versions, patches, service packs and updates on an on-going basis
  • Monitors network system performance at both the hardware and software levels using industry best-practice monitoring software and utilities
  • Responsible for the implementation, configuration, and on-going maintenance of the IPS devices and associated monitoring and alerting capabilities within the Hosted Production environments
  • Coordinates with service providers in scheduling preventive maintenance, upgrades and repair and maintains records.
  • Ensures compliance to Industry standards for all systems administered for HIPAA, PCI DSS, and ISO 27002.
  • Ensures compliance with data security policies and procedures relative to all network systems ability to handle multiple voice and data projects and assignments at the same time
  • Provides support for deployments to our hosting facility and for installed solutions in an on-call rotation schedule
  • Will assume primary Network administrator responsibilities within Client's Atlanta office and for Hosted Production
  • Responsible for creation of system images and quarterly updates using corporate-approved imaging tool
  • Responsible for maintaining system images for Disaster Recovery as well as defining and testing Disaster Recovery procedures

Background Requirements:

  • 6+ years Cisco Router & switch configuration and troubleshooting experience
  • 4+ years Cisco ASA Firewall configuration and troubleshooting experience
  • 4+ years Cisco SSL & IPSEC VPN configuration and troubleshooting experience
  • 4+ years with IDS and IPS appliances and software configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting experience
  • 2+ years' network design and documentation experience (diagramming, visio, etc.)
  • Ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Ability to provide off-hours operational support as needed
  • Ability to provide architecture, set best practices and provide highly available solutions requiring minimal maintenance
  • Ability to define troubleshooting procedures and processes to quickly determine the cause of any availability issue
  • Experience with ITIL best practices preferred
  • Experience with HIPAA, PCI DSS, and ISO 27002 standards preferred
  • Experience with Configuration Management systems preferred
  • Experience with VMWare/VSphere operation preferred
  • Must be detailed-oriented
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Must comprehend and perform job duties without a lot of direction; self-starter/self-motivator
  • Must have very strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must have strong and solid understanding of network and system troubleshooting skills
  • Hosting operations support/data center experience required
  • Strong documentation skills including experience with diagramming network environments
  • Able to lead internal projects with little oversight from the Network Services Management
  • Must be proficient in evaluating, configuring, and troubleshooting new technology (hardware and software platforms) to successful conclusion within Client's business and technology model.
  • Able to work independently and adjust to changing priorities
