Description
Scope of Work:The project is a complex engineering, design build and construct nuclear plant. The scope of work will entail all aspects of NEC post contract administration and subcontractor evaluation/cost management.
Key Responsibilities:
Post Contract:
? Hands on full Assessment compilation and management. (Upstream and Downstream with subcontractor)
? Project Payment certification.
? Internal cash flow management.
? Reconciliation of actual costs against forecast.
? Reconciliation of actual costs against budget.
? Reconciliation of actual costs against programme progress.
? Management and accountability of project EAC.
? Proactive, hands on management of project earned value.
? Proactive interaction with project planning function (P6).
? Proactive analysis and challenge of subcontractor costs.
? Support the Project Team in discussions concerning contractual issues.
? Adjusting project budgets / forecast as required.
? Hands on production of Commercial Monthly Project Status Reports.
Principle Interactions:
? Project Managers - 'support' developing sound programmes and estimates, performance reporting, recovery planning and change control.
? Clients - through the Project Manager, documents and reports as required by the contract.
? Project Controls Manager - support as required.
? Finance - interact to obtain actual cost information, support developing accruals and financial reports, supporting compliance with accounting standards.
Personal Qualities:
? Flexible approach, adapting to changing requirements and various management styles
? Hands on is essential - this is not a delegating role.
? Willingly assumes ownership of tasks, and then stands by commitments.
? Is schedule driven; willing to work outside normal working hours to deliver.
Experience / Knowledge:
? 5+ years experience of Commercial / Contract Administration experience, preferably within the nuclear industry and for a Main Contractor
? Well versed in various forms of contract, specifically the NEC and JCT (including sub-contractor forms)
? Demonstrated knowledge of Earned Value Management and reporting techniques
? Possesses excellent report writing and presentation preparation skills
? Demonstrated competencies especially in the areas of team working, drive and energy, impact and influence, taking action and delivering for customers.
Education & Qualification Requirements:
? Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management Degree
Other Relevant Information:
? Will require travel to project site within the UK. (North England and South East).
? Valid UK security clearance essential (min. BPSS level)
? Full UK driving licence required.
