Role Context:
Reward Management is part of the HR function, which is responsible for the promotion, monitoring and development of our clients employee value proposition within HBEU and is a major player in developing common HR approaches on a global basis.

The HBEU Reward Management team has responsibility for the development and implementation of policy on all aspects of remuneration, benefits and allowances across the UK Bank. The team works with external consultants from time to time (e.g. Mclagan, Towers Watson, Hay Group) on pay benchmarking and other major projects.

The job holder works closely with colleagues in developing reward policy and maintains regular contact with HR Generalists and line management at all levels in order to ensure that policy remains aligned to the business need.

In some instances it is the job holder's responsibility to support the development/review of existing reward or benefit programmes that may result in cost-effective/market aligned arrangements. Once agreed this may also in include the successful implementation and ongoing monitoring of changes.

Work will be managed on a project basis. The job holder will work with Reward Management Team colleagues and HR Service Delivery to plan, prioritise initiatives and to agree resource requirements.

Knowledge/ Experience/ Qualifications:

Knowledge and Skills

· Graduate calibre/proven intellectual capability with supporting qualification (ideally CIPD or equivalent)
· Experience at a senior level within Reward demonstrating :
· An extensive knowledge of pay, benefits and compensation issues and related legislation and practice
· Excellent understanding of the company's business goals and objectives
· Advanced numerical skills
· Project Management skills and experience in managing complex reward projects
· Strong IT skills
· Excellent vendor management skills
· Advanced presentation skills

Business Influence
· High degree of autonomy in developing and managing introduction of initiatives in support of Business area strategy and input to overall HR strategy.

Problem Solving
· Highly developed analytical skills
· Creative problem solving and decision making skills
· Ability to quickly identify and understand the key drivers of any given Business Area
· Managing a range of concurrent complex issues and often conflicting priorities
· Capable of managing self-sufficiently

Working Together
· Consultancy and partnership skills - proactively building relationships with others to get results
· Contributes to team/s as specialist technical expert within multi-function teams.
· May directly manage team of Reward Managers/Analysts
· Management of Reward projects
· Act as technical coach to Reward and other HR colleagues
· Ability to operate in a matrixed environment
