I am currently looking for a Geo-Environmental Engineer for a 6-12 month contract based in Greater Manchester.

The job will include:

Undertaking Phase 1 Geo-Environmental Desk Studies - Conducting site walkover surveys, reviewing published data and previous investigations, producing Conceptual Site Models, Prelimenary Risk Assessments etc.

Undertaking Phase 2 Intrusive Site Investigations:

Tendering SI contractors
Managing site works
Providing engineering supervision on site
Scheduling laboratory testing to meet SI objectives
Writing combined factual and interpretative reports
Interpretation of Ground conditions and laboratory results
Undertaking geotechnical appraisals (recommendations for foundations, floor slabs, concrete specification (BRE SD 1), earthworks etc.)

Undertaking contamination assessments (GQRA)
Knowledge of Ciria C665 and BS8485 (Ground gas risk assessment)
Producing Remediation Strategies for sites.
Undertaking Remediation Validation of sites and producing Verification Reports

The following would be a bonus:

Basic knowledge/skills with AutoCAD
Knowledge of Keynetix HoleBase and related software (including general knowledge of AGS data format)
Knowledge of geotechnical design (pile foundations, retaining walls)
Knowledge of remediation of mine workings
DQRA (CLEA and EA P20 Remedial Targets)
