Design, implement, maintain, and support local and remote portions of the enterprise network.
  • Creates and maintains detailed project plans, scope of work, diagrams, and other technical documentation of all moves, adds, and changes in regards to the enterprise network.
  • Provide timely project status updates to technical staff and all levels of management.
  • Provide second and third level technical support for all LAN/WAN/VPN/Wireless related operations.
  • Work in an enterprise IT environment with specific tasks related to network security, and Firewall administration.
  • Participate in design and strategy meetings for assigned IT projects for the WM enterprise network.
  • Work with various IT based groups and BU's as a subject matter expert (SME).
  • Perform complex problem isolation within the network infrastructure.
  • Participate in an On-call rotation and carry an On-call communication device with published information to the organization.
  • Develop and recommend strategies for network growth, security, and other network enhancements by maximizing functionality of Routers, Switches, and Firewalls.
  • Perform network related MAC's during change windows, and/or outside of normal business hours of operation.
  • Conduct, research, and recommend solutions as it relates to capacity planning for the enterprise network.
  • Support the campus environments as required and corporate Data Center Locations nationwide.
  • Develop operational knowledge of Network based tools that support the enterprise network environments.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Network Services Manager in conjunction with management team.
  • Design, develop, implement, and document end-to-end solutions across IT and Network organizations
  • Lead planning with third party IVR vendors to create interface/APIs to support integrations with the company platform
  • Provide requirements as part of solutions to automate operations, eliminate manual reentry, improve cycle time and meet work center needs and product needs
  • Develop end-to-end flows to support Sales/Contracting, Ordering, Provisioning, Maintenance, Reporting, external user interfaces, system test, and User Acceptance Test
  • Troubleshoot network problems with 3rd party vendors and customers
  • Ability to look into multiple systems and create network reports
SKILLS:

This is a senior-level position that required expertise at all levels of LAN, WAN, VPN Technologies, and Wireless, administration.
  • Position entails a full understanding of multi-vendor Network based hardware; configuration management; and related software.
  • Individual must have exceptional communications skills and the ability to communicate on a technical and non-technical level.
  • Must be competent to work on highly complex assignments and perform a full range of technical support activities.
  • Must have the experience to make technical decisions, follow department guidelines, and company policies.
  • Must act as SME in Design, Troubleshooting, and project management roles in accordance to assigned task.
  • 5-10 years of related work equivalent experience in large enterprise environments.
  • Requires expert level experience in TCP/IP Protocol; IP Routing Protocols; MPLS, IPSEC virtual private network, QOS and Technologies; OSI Model/Layered Troubleshooting; Cisco Routers, Switches, Wireless and Firewalls; Sniffer; Cisco IOS Configuration and Administration; Circuit activations, troubleshoot/provisioning met; Microsoft Excel, Word and MS Project; and Capacity Planning and Trend Analysis
  • Must be local to the Houston, TX area.
  • Expected to be available 24X7X365 as required to maintain the enterprise infrastructure
