The ideal candidate will conceive, develop, design, build, document, and support high reliability fixtures and equipment to enable custom processes. The role will occasionally venture into process development as necessary. Exceptionally high reliability performance will be the most important requirement of the equipment. The work will be done within a team of highly experienced engineers, with their guidance or independently as appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conceive, design, build and test prototypes to prove concepts and guide design.
  • Design and make drawings using Solid works as necessary.
  • Select and specify components.
  • Write detailed specifications as required.
  • Select and manage vendors from quoting through delivery, inspection, and acceptance.
  • Develop well working relationships with vendors and manage them effectively
  • Become deeply involved in details of projects and investigations to direct and or contribute as necessary
  • Develop new or improved methods and procedures for processes, measurement, documenting, work flow, etc. as necessary.
  • Plans and evaluate results of analysis, modeling or experiments.
  • Assist with the maintenance of engineering laboratory equipment.
  • Write protocols, qualification documents, test plans and test reports, etc.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision or as a part of a close nit team learning new skills and taking input willingly.
  • Transfer technology/train internal and external personnel.
  • Assists in department planning and objectives
  • Participate in technology planning and direction to complex, multi-team efforts.
  • Takes initiatives to maintain and extend technical skills.
  • May maintain laboratory notebooks and creates technical memos.


Minimum Qualification Requirements:
  • Highly responsible and driven to make significant direct contributions across equipment, processes, and work flow.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals in hardware and process disciplines.
  • Strong technical problem solving skills including diagnosis and solution generation.
  • Strongly detail oriented and dedicated to highest quality results.
  • Strong hands on capability and willingness to prototype, test, assemble, diagnose, debug/rework as necessary using tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are a must for technical documentation and internal and external communication, this is a significant part of the work.
  • Proficiency with Solid-Works essential.
  • Experience with Pro-E a plus.
  • Good computer skills are required.
  • Collaborative and inclusive to work well in a team-oriented group and business.
  • Capability with machine control programming and or managing specifying programing a major plus.
  • Experience in aGMPpharma. or other regulated environment is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Fifteen years of experience designing, debugging, and supporting equipment.
