Description
Responsibilities include:- Assist geologists, geophysicists and petrophysicists with database management
- Downloading, compiling, organizing, loading and front-end analysis of well and spatial data
- Create and manipulate map data, perform technical support, and create documentation and elements for presentation slides
- Serves as a primary resource for data quality and support within Landmark-Openworks, Petrel, Geographix and other data management tools
- Assists with post-well and/or project evaluations and competitor analysis
- Five years of industry experience
- Strength in PC and workstation-based applications (data management, geological, and engineering) e.g. UNIX, LINUX, Access, Excel, ArcGis Suite, Geographix, Petrel, and Landmark-OpenWorks
- Understand, manipulate, audit, load and maintain well log data, rasters, scout ticket information, geological field data, navigation/survey data, land data, georeference map data, and core data in both electronic and hardcopy formats
- Prepare maps, cross-sections, montages, charts, tables, etc. in hardcopy and electronic formats
- Ability to learn quickly, develop new workflows with minimal supervision
- Fluctuations in workloads will require some overtime
- Creative thinker with a desire to challenge the status quo and conventional thinking with the ability to implement new ideas, processes and technologies
- Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities with the ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information and tight deadlines
- Excellent time management skills with ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently and meet tight deadlines
- Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills with experience working in a multi-discipline team environment
- Strong communication skills with ability to effectively share information to mentor/develop others
