My client is currently searching for a senior process engineer to join their established team in the North East.
Your wide range of responsibilities will include; defining critical process constraints and informing the multidisciplinary team of issues, assessing buildability, challenging proposals, considering alternative solutions, assessing and communicating areas of process risk for design and build projects, preparing commissioning risk assessments and identifying risk mitigation measures, analysing process plant commissioning needs and preparing commissioning methodology, taking the lead on preparing commissioning plan documentation, working alongside other disciplines, participating in design reviews, HAZOPs, HAZCONs and HAZCOMs, undertaking HAZCOM presentation and communicating commissioning plans to clients, assessing by calculation the need for temporary process plant during water/wastewater works upgrades, designing process related temporary works, attending site based meetings to discuss design/commissioning needs, providing onsite process commissioning support for water and wastewater treatment works and producing documentation for submission to clients and third parties, including formal submission of calculations and reports.

To qualify for this role you must have:

A degree in Chemical Engineering or other relevant qualification, or be a chartered member of an appropriate engineering/scientific institution (eg: IChemE, CIWEM), hold a strong detailed knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and possess working knowledge of hydraulics and pumping, have experience in water and wastewater process design, working for a consultancy, water company or contractor, have experience in water and wastewater process commissioning and experience of working in a contracting/design and build environment.
It is also important that candidate is able to demonstrate the ability to assess water/wastewater treatment works performance based on data and on site observations and have the experience of working on Scottish Water projects would be highly desirable. The candidate must be a clear and confident communicator, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The candidate has to be a highly motivated individual who has a strong attention to detail quality and is competent in working independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
