ABOUT THE POSITION
GTN Technical Staffing is seeking a Cisco Network Engineer with expert-level domain knowledge on Nexus OS for a CatOS to NexusOS migration. Contract is expected to last 4 to 6 months with this role being heavily involved in all phases of migration planning. The initial portion of this project will be geared towards design reviews, impart domain, and creating migration planning documentation. This role will join a team of six Engineers and two Project Managers.
Please note, this role will require direct participation in the initial migration with non-business hours (typically ran on Saturdays from 8 PM to 12 AM).
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of experience in the following skill sets
- Must have migration experience from 6500 (HSRP/Spanning Tree) to Nexus 7k (w/VPC)!
- Domain Expertise on Nexus OS - Configuration/Support
- VDC -Virtual Design and Construction
- FabricPath
- VRF - Virtual Routing and Forwarding
- Migration Design Reviews
- Resource Provisioning w/Nexus 7K
- Scaling Nexus 5Ks Horizontally and Linearly with Nexus 2Ks
- Interop/Migration Planning from CatOS to NexusOS
- Routing Protocols - Configuration/Implementation/Migration
- OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) with limited redistribution between VDCs
- Classic Spanning Tree Interop with Fabric Path
- HSRP (Hot Standby Router Protocol)
