Responsibilities:
  • Provides technical support for the project execution team
  • Identify the scope of work requirements,
  • Provides welding engineering assessment and guidance with respect to code
  • Ability to interpret fatigue failure analysis and provide root cause analysis
  • Good understanding about the Oil & Gas treatment plant process operations
  • Preparation of material selection diagrams & report, corrosion control methods, corrosion management reports complying with project/client requirements as minimum.
  • Preparation/update of external painting specification and internal lining specification according project/client requirements.
  • Evaluation and sound knowledge about the different available materials for the intended process service and recommendation of cost-effective materials.
  • Interdisciplinary coordination regarding technical issues involved with the materials, paintings and internal lining.
  • Obtain the required inputs from other engineering disciplines e.g. process flow diagrams, process design basis, heat-and-mass balance, P&ID's, piping material specifications and other necessary data.
  • Review of vendor/supplier documents related to materials and coatings. Ensure vendor recommended materials are meeting the material selection & specification
  • Evaluation of cost saving opportunities in materials selection
  • Development of corporate standards/procedures for material selection


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Metallurgical/Corrosion Engineering.
  • 5 to 8 years engineering and design experience in materials selection & corrosion control in the facilities including: Oil & Gas Separators, Oil & Gas Dehydration, Gas Sweetening, Glycol Regeneration, Refrigeration, and Cryogenic plants.
  • 5 to 8 years root cause analysis experience
  • 5 to 8 years welding compliance experience with industry code, associated with ASME and carbon & Stainless steels
  • Conversant with relevant corrosion rate prediction tools (e.g Predict 5.0, ECE)
  • Sound working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards such as NACE MR 0175/ISO 15156
