Position Objective

The Sr. Planner performs all functions needed to ensure the highest possible material availability working within the constraints of inventory targets, frequent product changes, short dated kits, and unpredictable demand. This is a service position and is responsive to the needs of internal and external (suppliers) customers. Assist in the planning of instruments, service parts, reagent kits, and consumable/accessories.

Essential Functions

* Knowledge of planning process and MRP/Forecasting

* Analyze regional demand patterns to anticipate stock levels required prior to customer orders

* Daily inventory monitoring and DRP movements

* Manage vertical supply chain

* Work on material reports and work to reduce via date extension and internal sales

* Ability to understand and execute on all planning levels: Supply, Demand, DRP

* Manage metrics: Inventory Turns, Line item Fill Rate, POI

* All other duties as required or assigned

Nature and Scope

Recurring work situations with occasional variations from the norm, involving a moderate degree of complexity. Must demonstrate judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers. The Sr. Planner is responsible for the effective planning of both internally made goods and purchased finished goods with a high level of complexity.

Complexity/Decision Making

Exercises judgment with generally defined practices and policies, working on problems of relatively moderate scope and complexity. Generally determines appropriate action by independently referencing operating policies and procedures, and using proven approaches.

Leadership/Teamwork/Contacts

Has contact with all levels of company employees as well as frequent interaction with suppliers.

Supervision

Receives technical guidance on aspects or areas outside primary technical specialty. Provides feedback and periodic updates to managers on status of goal/project assignments.

Education:

* Bachelors in a business discipline is the minimum requirement. Masters degree in business or a BS in a science field is helpful.

Experience:

* Min 7 years business experience

* High performance communication and execution skills

* Skilled in using MRP/ERP, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook

Working Conditions:

Works in an office environment. Must be able to work overtime and flexible shifts.
