Description
An asset management firm is looking for a new Application Development Manager to run a Shared Services Team in a Java J2EE environment. The client is looking for a combination of cutting edge technical ability and strong management skills. This is a full-time position located in downtown Chicago.This is a new position on a shared services team which will form a horizontal structure over three existing web application teams. Qualified Application Development Managers will have previous experience leading a Shared Services group.
Other responsibilities include:
- Managing more than 20 technical full-time and contract employees
- Working closely with internal IT Managers, Business Managers
- Work closely with outside vendors and clientele
- Manage and forecast budget needs and analysis
- Road mapping major projects and initiatives
- Performance management and career development of full time employees
Qualifications for this role include:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
- A background in Java J2EE
- Experience with Oracle Databases
- 5-7 years of experience with website applications
- 3-5 years of experience within the financial space
- Experience leading a Shared Services team
- Experience with the agile methodology
- Previous work as an architect is preferred
