Description
An asset management firm is looking for a new Development Manager to run a team of Architects and Team Leads in a Java J2EE environment. The client is looking for a combination of cutting edge technical ability and strong management skills. This is a full-time position located in downtown Chicago.This is a new position being formed within a new team, and the Development Manager will be responsible for defining and implementing an new series of policies and procedures. The role will also required to build out the team by identifying skill gaps and bringing on new contract and full time employees.
All applicants must have experience leading the formation of a new Development Team.
Other responsibilities include:
- Managing more than 20 technical full-time and contract employees
- Working closely with internal IT Managers, Business Managers
- Work closely with outside vendors and clientele
- Manage and forecast budget needs and analysis
- Road mapping major projects and initiatives
- Performance management and career development of full time employees
Qualifications for this role include:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
- A background in Java J2EE
- Experience with Oracle Databases
- 5-7 years of experience with website applications
- 3-5 years of experience within the financial space
- Experience leading a Shared Services team
- Experience with the agile methodology
- Previous work as an architect is preferred
