My client, a leading manufacturer of medical device products, is currently recruiting for the role of Projects/Automation Engineer to be based inDublin. As part of this exciting opportunity the successful candidate will work with the engineering team to develop and optimise manufacturing processes within the company. Key to this will be the identification, implementation and management of automated solutions in order to reduce costs and improve quality while all the time reporting to the Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will also be responsible the management and implementation of projects to completion.

  • Must be able to travel as required.
  • Experience in dealing with customers.
  • Knowledge of computer systems; integrated manufacturing systems; word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to accurately document work performed.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams.
  • Must be able to work independently on own projects while working concurrently with all departments.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the development of documentation in the Production and Technical areas in line with ISO9001 and ISO 13485 requirements, and review the systems with the Group Leaders and the Quality department on a regular basis to ensure conformance to same.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of 6sigma methodology.
  • Introduction of new production processes into the company.
  • Management and optimisation of existing processes.
  • Development of User Requirements Specifications for purchased equipment and liaising with vendors on same.
  • Ensure current best practices are maintained and keep abreast of new relevant technologies.
  • Drive improvements for current processes with focus on zero defects philosophy.
  • Work with other team members in troubleshooting processing problems.
  • Solves, in conjunction with the Quality department, customer related problems/issues as needed
  • Must have an excellent knowledge of automated systems
  • Instructs others, formally or informally, regarding manufacturing related skills or knowledge and assist in the training of employees on new processes or systems introduced to the company


Minimum Education/Experience
  • Preferably a Degree in a related Engineering Discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years high volume manufacturing experience, preferably having worked in the Medical, Packaging or Technological industries before with experience of process validations
