The Senior Systems Administrator reports into Client's Hosting Services department.  The Systems Administrator works with other members of the Hosting Services team to deliver high quality solutions to support our hosted clients within the health insurance industry.  The Systems Administrator will work with multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, and Solaris) and multiple networking components (corporate and hosted production environments) and support our products on each of these platforms. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining all corporate networking and security components, as well as working with the Hosting Vendor to support the Production Hosting environment. The Systems Administrator will be the primary systems administrator within Client's downtown Atlanta corporate office location, and will also be responsible for the day to day desktop and user support of the personnel in that office location.  The Systems Administrator will report to the Manager of Hosting Services.

This position is a contract to perm position with an immediate start paying $43/hour.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide server and software support for Client's employees and project teams
  • Provide onsite and remote server administration, setup, and configuration and maintenance
  • Responsible for maintaining server hardware inventory, including procurement
  • Responsible for repairing Servers, both internally and via vendor support
  • Perform tape and disk-based backups for corporate and production environments as well as maintaining offsite tape rotation strategies
  • Required for both on-hours and off-hours support
  • Will manage Server images, security hardening of Servers, and perform remediation of discovered vulnerabilities
  • Provide corporate networking and security support to internal users and to external client requests
  • Provides support for deployments to our hosting facility and for installed solutions in an on-call rotation schedule
  • Will assume primary systems administrator responsibilities within Client's Atlanta office and for Hosted Production
  • Responsible for creation of system images and quarterly updates using corporate-approved imaging tool
  • Responsible for maintaining system images for Disaster Recovery

Background Requirements:

  • BS/BA Degree or equivalent
  • Experience with HP and Dell Server hardware preferred
  • Experience with Windows 2003 and Windows R2 required
  • 5+ years' experience building and maintaining Linux Servers required
  • 4+ years' experience as a systems administrator with coordinated experience in patching, security hardening, and image creation for both Windows and Linux/Unix platforms
  • Experience with VMWare/VSphere setup and configuration required
  • Experience with IIS 6.0 and IIS 7.0 required
  • Experience with Acronis Imaging Software preferred
  • Must be detailed-oriented
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Must comprehend and perform job duties without a lot of direction; self-starter/self-motivator
  • Must have very strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must have strong and solid understanding of network and system troubleshooting skills
  • Hosting operations support/data center experience preferred
  • Strong documentation skills including experience with diagramming network environments and creating instructional documentation for users' systems
  • Able to lead some internal projects with little oversight from the Hosting Services Management
  • Must be proficient in evaluating, configuring, and troubleshooting new technology (hardware and software platforms) to successful conclusion within Client's business and technology model.
  • Able to work independently and adjust to changing priorities
  • Responds strongly and positively to challenging work and deadlines and is able to work in fast paced, dynamic and team oriented environment
