SAN Storage Administrator
Pittsburgh, PA
1 year+ contract

This position is for a Storage administrator. Advanced knowledge of enterprise storage systems and concepts is required. The appropriate candidate will become part of an experienced team dedicated to the support of storage systems in our environment. Off hours and weekend support are required along with less than 20% travel to support customer engagements. Participation in a rotating 24 hour/7 day on-call rotation when necessary. Excellent communication skills for customer presentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides routine technical support with full responsibility and accountability.
  • Operates autonomously detecting and anticipating problems.
  • Must work closely with vendor resources on remote/local projects as required.
  • 5+ years experience with Design, deploying, configure, and maintaining storage solutions in a NetApp/EMC/Hitachi/SVC SAN storage environment.
  • Research and make recommendations on storage products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Ability to work in large global IT support organization
  • Ability to work closely with other platform teams, UNIX, Windows, VMware, Cloud
  • Must have excellent written, verbal, presentation and project management skills
  • Must have experience working in accordance with a tightly controlled change management environment.

Technical Skills:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience working on NetApp, EMC, Hitachi, IBM SVC, DS5300, DS6000,Cisco
  • EMC - Clariion CX-4, Centera, VMAX, Solutions Enabler, SYMCLI, PowerPath, SMC
  • NetApp - FAS3000, FAS6000, OnCommand System Mgr, Ops Mgr, SnapMirror, Multistore, OnTap upgrades
  • Hitachi- VSP, Command Suite, Storage Navigator, Performance Monitor
  • IBM - DS5300 DS6000 - SVC - 6.3, 6.4, Metro Mirror, Flash Copy, Stretched cluster experience a plus.
  • Cisco 9506, 9509, 9513, zoning, IVR, VSAN management
  • Unix administrator level skills for AIX, HPUX, Red Hat Linux
  • Ad-hoc Scripting skills for storage administration (Korn, Bash, or Perl)
  • Hands-on SAN/NAS/DAS troubleshooting experience.
  • Data Migration & Replication Methodologies
  • NetApp, EMC, Hitachior Cisco certifications preferred.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in field and 5+ years of experience or industry equivalence gained via prior work assignments.
