Front End Developer - Contract $$$
My client are currently looking for a "modern" UI Developer with strong skills around OOJS and modern libraries and are looking to move away from their reliance on jQuery and bring in frameworks such as Backbone, Angular, Node etc.
This role will find you as a focal point for all such activities and therefore this offers ambitious candidates the opportunity to help shape and own my clients JS set-up.
To be considered for this role you should demonstrate the following skills and background;
- Excellent command of HTML4 and HTML5 and a grasp of the differences between the two.
- Excellent skills in CSS2 and 3, and an understanding of their current states of implementation across different web browsers.
- Strong cross-browser understanding.
- Demonstrable examples of complex HTML and CSS websites, written to W3C standards.
- Strong skills around structuring and managing CSS, and the tools currently available to do so.
- The ability to optimise front-end code and assets to achieve shorter website loadtimes.
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks, e.g. Backbone.js, AngularJS or any other reasonable framework.
- Demonstrable examples of building complex front-end website components in JavaScript that feature a significant degree of user interactivity and dynamic retrieval and display of data and content.
- Strong experience with jQuery. You should be at a level where you are able to write/amend your own plugins.
Desirable Skills;
- Experience with server-side JavaScript, e.g. Node.js.
- Experience with Python / PHP.
- Demonstrable experience with building HTML-based mobile-device optimised websites.
- Experience with JavaScript testing - e.g. JSUnit, QUnit, RhinoUnit or similar.
