An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Software Delivery Project Manager on an initial four month contract in Edinburgh at a major NHS supplier after winning a new piece of project work for a major NHS site.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the management of the full project development life-cycle for the Clinical Systems Platform which includes software that delivers an easy to use set of tools for front line healthcare staff which is to be implemented with this particular NHS foundation.

Skills and Experience:

  • Specific NHS software delivery experience
  • Prince 2 qualified
  • familiarity with agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Have a deep understanding of the product development cycle from project initiation to final delivery.
  • You will be a strong communicator, and have the ability to manage in a collaborative environment.
  • Understand leadership as enabling colleagues to perform their roles effectively.
  • Are pragmatic and flexible, with a willingness to take on different roles and responsibilities in order to help successfully deliver a project.
  • Have strong client facing skills with the ability to manage relationships including negotiating and prioritising as deemed necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver key software developments on time and to budget.
  • Manage all aspects of the project management lifecycle, particularly around scope, delivery timelines and risks.
  • Create and maintain project plans and forecasting.
  • Overall provisioning, scheduling and support of current customer delivery and new customer on-boarding.
  • Co-ordinate the delivery of products from the providers software platform.
  • Work alongside and support technical operations and the development team prioritising client support issues alongside on-going project work.
  • Champion agile best practices, and help foster a culture of continuous improvement. To work with the rest of the team to identify and implement improvements to the internal development and implementation processes.
  • Report weekly on the activity and plan on a weekly and long term basis the development team's activity.
  • To ensure that allocated Change Requests are completed in a timely and effective fashion
