This position will be responsible for assisting with the planning, deploying and executing our Infrastructure Maintenance Plan, which consists of replacing our aging technology infrastructure in multiple buildings and locations. This is a national initiative that will require proper planning, a great deal of attention to detail, information gathering and analysing best practices for approach to execution. This position will report to the Program Manager.
Description:
A Senior Project Manager will enable successful project or program delivery through disciplined project management processes and close collaboration with business partners, program realization team members and various IT functions. A Project Manager will be required to know or learn program and process methodology and to plan execution within the established organizational framework and oversight processes.
Responsibilities:
Assist in managing multimillion dollar upgrade to Kaiser IT Infrastructure
Plan projects that will converge Voice, Video & Data into a single IP Network.
Oversee, coordinate, and assist the groups' efforts for assigned projects
Issue Tracking and Resolution
Action Item Tracking
Status and Planning Meeting Facilitation & Participation
Financial Management (Forecasting actual expenditures and meeting targets)
Leading/Directing Integrated Teams Across multiple disciplines (process and technical)
Status Reporting and Process Development
Oversee project schedules and plans.
This is a complex activity involving the integration of project schedules from multiple groups
Partner with the business managers to effectively coordinate hand-offs between the business and technical teams.
Manage the risks and issues.
Utilize escalation procedures to resolve issues and ensure accountability and follow-up of risks before they impact timeline and quality of deliverables.
Assist with demand planning, cost modelling and database generation.
Facilitate communication between the various business, IT and vendors within the program.
Work with multiple business and IT groups to determine a strategy for the deployment of projects
Complete regular status reports and other reporting requirements for assigned project(s) and meet project management standards established by the Project Management Office.
Document lessons learned and find ways to implement changes needed within the program for smooth execution of projects.
Reconcile financial activity for all projects
Ability to Multi-Task
Ability to accurately forecast and mitigate risk that may impact multi-year schedule
Required Skills:
BA Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science.
5-8+ Years of Project Management
Visio
MS Project
Excellent skill level using Excel, pivot tables, with complex macros & formulas
PowerPoint
Word
Familiar with Niku and/or other Project Management Reporting Tools
Advanced communication and written skills
Preferred skills:
Knowledge of Voice, Data & Telecommunications Networks
Experience managing Telecommunication providers or Telecommunications provider experience.
PMP Certification
