Oracle DBA (Configuration, SQl, PL/SQL, EBS, 10g, 11g, Unix, Reports, Discoverer, Oracle BI Publisher, Enterprise Manager, Grid Control, Oracle Portal, Application Server, Oracle Identity Manager, Oracle Applications Express)
Axica Recruitment is currently looking for an experienced Oracle DBA to join a major end user in Dublin. Please note this is a 3 year fixed term contract
This is a challenging role with a growing organisation; requiring database technical & problem solving experience, strong analysis skills and a calm approach when working under pressure.
Primary Objectives/Key Responsibilities
- DBA Administration Tasks on all databases including high availability 24x7 Systems.
- Backup & Restore Procedures and testing.

- Cloning
- Housekeeping Tasks & Space Management
- GRID Control Configuration
- Database & Application Server Upgrades
- Database & Application Server Development Lifecycle
- Version Control
- Change Control
- Manage corporate Oracle database architecture, interconnections and schemas for the storage and retrieval of corporate information in a high transaction rate, mission critical 24x7 environments.
- Database planning, scaling, and capacity planning activities
- Database design, index creation, database optimization, and performance tuning
- Design and implement new data models, tables, and schemas to support new functionality as the business demands

- Work with developers to move test code into production
- Administration and management of all database software patches and upgrades
- Ensure high availability, backup, and recovery of production databases
- Provides recommendations to improve system functionality and processes
- Contribute to the client's code library for increased development productivity.
- Assist or lead in the definition of Oracle & Microsoft databases, conforming to established system architecture standards and practices.
- Participate in the evaluation/implementation of third party software solutions
Experience/Knowledge
Required
- 3+ Years Oracle Database (DBA) experience
- Oracle E-business DBA Experience
- SQL & PL/SQL Experience
- Development & Project Methodologies
- Technical knowledge & Experience on Oracle Databases
- Proven analytical and problem resolution skills
- Ability to manage customer relationship with third party vendors
Desirable
- OCP Certified
- Microsoft SQL Server - Database Experience
- Oracle Application and/or Fusion Middleware
- Unix Scripting
