For our client, a dynamic and multinational company, located in the area of Zürich, Switzerland, we are exclusively looking for a motivated and ambitious:
Global Datacenter Infrastructure Manager (Operations) - Contract
This position is responsible for the technical leadership and strategic planning for all core operating systems and platform technologies for the Global Technology Center. This includes direct management of personnel for SAP, Oracle, Windows, Mac and Linux based Servers. In addition this position is primarily responsible for many supporting technologies including enterprise storage system, enterprise backup, disaster prevention and recovery technologies, and enterprise system monitoring and management technologies, service desk, data networking, video and voice communications.
Your tasks in this position:
- Research, recommend, and procure hardware and Operating System platforms and tools to support the client's on going maintenance.
- Continuously analyze operational methods, integration & monitoring tools and support processes in the unit in order to maintain and improve the efficiency and stability of operations.
- Continually look for outsourcing opportunities and cost reduction initiatives.
- Develop, test and update disaster recovery technologies to support the Division's Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) for all Data Center facilities.
- Manage and supervise infrastructure support staff both internal and external on a Global scale. Work with Regional Information Officers.
- Oversee the design, purchase recommendation and implementation of storage solutions.
- Design and direct initiatives dedicated to working with global customers in order to encourage greater use of centralized computing resources.
- Develop service level agreements (SLAs) as well as hosting solutions for variety of customers with external vendors.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in computer science or information technology required.
Work Experience:
- Experience working for a multi-national company responsible for data centers, network, telecommunications and service desk (a MUST)
- STRONG technical, hands on IT Operational experiences (Datacenter environment)
- At least 8 years in senior level role
- At least 5 years as manager of infrastructure for a multi national company
- Strong project management experience
- Strong knowledge of SAP/Oracle and Java architectures
Job Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of global infrastructure design
- Strong global governance of infrastructure
- Knowledge of local data and privacy laws a plus for various countries
- Strong team and people skills
- Ability to manage large and global teams
- Strong contract and negotiation skills
Start: 1st November 2013
Duration: 3-6 month (extension optional)
