Senior Commercial Analyst required by globally renowned media company. As a Senior Commercial Analyst you will be working within a small team and will be reporting into the Head of Business Planning and Reporting.

Your role will see you providing detailed reporting and insight to the European Store Management team, tracking against budget, title-level and promotion sales forecasting, and generally delivering actionable insights that shape strategic decisions. You will be evaluating the effectiveness of merchandising and promotional activities undertaken on to the store to help define future strategy, alongside working with the BI and store management team to translate the impact of business decisions into financial terms.

Other responsibilities include; interpreting large volumes of data and identifying consumer trends, raising awareness of data available by generating meaningful insight, examining ways to alter and/or optimise existing business processes, developing dashboards & reports, and identifying store KPI's to update management on actual performance vs. budget, preparing forecasting models in Excel and leveraging them to highlight upcoming trends, revenue risks and opportunities.

You will also be required to provide commercial support such as preparing cost-benefit analyses (pre and post campaigns) to assess the effectiveness of marketing activities, provide financial support in order to quantify revenue opportunities of potential store changes, and develop monthly targets for key Categories in order to monitor and track store performance, and conducting ad-hoc financial analysis.

Suitable candidates will be confident, driven, and assertive self-starters with exceptional analytical, quantitative, problem solving, and decision making skills.

As this role comprises presenting in-depth analyses to senior management and external stakeholders, building relationships with other teams and the wider business, strong interpersonal, negotiation, communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills are mandatory.

Knowledge of Excel and Access (VBA level), and BI reporting tools such as MicroStrategy, Hyperion or Cognos is essential, whilst hands on experience with SQL and web analytics tools such as Omniture Sitecatalyst, Webtrends, Coremetrics, or Google Analytics is desirable.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree, experience with B2C/consumer data, and will come from a commercially/financially focused background, namely, retail, FMCG, telecommunications, online services, e-commerce, media/ entertainment / film /music, or gaming, although this is not a prerequisite.
