One of NSW's most established and high profile government departments is looking to engage a Senior Information Manager to join their team to develop strategic policy and advice relating to information management and development of training and education policy and material. You will lead the implementation of Business Intelligence tools to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and accountability of the department's operations in the key areas of information availability for development programs.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide high-level support to the General Manager in establishing and maintaining stable information sources for the Department's data, evidence and evaluation needs.
  • Establish and maintain stable information and reporting systems.
  • Manage relationships to ensure adequate support for the effective operation of data collection, storage and reporting systems.
  • Lead the development of Business Intelligence tools for the Department's core data collections.
  • Oversee development and implementation of appropriate data governance arrangements.

The successful candidate will need to meet the following criteria;

  • Substantial management experience at a Senior Executive level gained in a complex operating environment in the public, private or not-for-profit sectors.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline.
  • High level technical knowledge and successful experience developing and implementing data management and reporting systems to an ISO accredited standard.
  • Demonstrated high level skills in strategic analysis, and one or more of: statistics, evaluation, psychometrics, Business Intelligence or other relevant key area.
  • Strong record of achievement in high-level management, including people and financial management skills to ensure effective utilisation of resources, for leading staff to achieve objectives, managing conflicting priorities and complex issues.
  • Proven experience and achievement in high-level policy formulation, and in-depth understanding of Government policy, direction, objectives and service delivery functions (highly desirable)
